This notice is hereby given of public hearings to receive public comment to adopt the Moroni City proposed fiscal year 2022-2023 operating budget along with adopting the certified-tax rate proposed by Sanpete County and to reopen and amend the 2021-2022 budget.
The proposed 2022-2023 budget includes the following rate increases:
- FIRE FEE – Increase of the Fire fee by $1.00 per month.
Sanpete County Fire District has increased the rate - POLICE FEE – Increase of the police fee by $23.00 per month.
The police fee will go from $20.00/month to $43.00/month to include 2 officers. There will be no increase if the city contracts with the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office - IRRIGATION FEE – Increase of the Irrigation fee by $15.00 per ½ share per month.
The irrigation fee will go from $24.00/month per ½ share to $39.00/month per ½ share to help pay for irrigation meters, and installation expenses.
There will also be an independent enterprise fund transfer hearing to discuss the intended transfer from the Water fund to the General fund in the amount of $25,000.00, which is 6.7 % of the total expenses of the 2022-2023 water budget.
The hearings will begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Moroni City Community Center, 80 South 200 West.
