Bruce and Laura met in 1971 while both were working in Salt Lake City. Laura was working at Xerox Corporation and Bruce was playing baseball for the Salt Lake Angels. They were married in 1972 and settled in Moroni after Bruce was finished playing professional baseball. They are the parents of three children: Daniel, Sadie, and Nicholas (deceased).
They have eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren with two more on the way. Both have previously worked for Moroni City, Bruce on the Planning and Zoning Committee, and Laura as City Recorder.
