MORONI CITY RESOLUTION 2021- 5
A RESOLUTION REGULATING THE IRRIGATION WATERING SCHEDULE, PROHIBITING WATERING ON OFF-SCHEDULED DAYS AND TIMES, AND SETTING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Moroni City Council has set a weekly watering schedule of 5 days per week as long as water is available. Dates and times and situations are subject to change at the discretion of the Mayor and Council.
The city has been broken up into 4 quadrants. The 4 quadrants and scheduled watering is as follows:
SCHOOLS, CHURCHES AND BUSINESSES ~ TUESDAY – SATURDAY: 12:00 MIDNIGHT – 2:00 A.M.
NO WATERING ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY * ABSOLUTLEY NO OPEN HOSE WATERING
WHEREAS, the Moroni City Council feels that at times some citizens are not compliant with the water schedule set forth by the council.
- The council feels that the watering schedule as set is adequate for watering.
- The council feels that a fine be imposed for those citizens not in compliance with the watering schedule.
- The council feels that one (1) warning is sufficient notice of incompliance and that a citation be issued and a fine be imposed on the second and third violation; with the riser being capped for the remainder of the season on the 4th violation.
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Mayor and City Council of Moroni City, Sanpete County, State of Utah, as follows:
Section 1 – Penalties and classification of violation. The governing body is setting and requiring that a fine of $100.00 be imposed on the second violation of the watering schedule; $200.00 on the third violation; the fourth violation will constitute the riser being capped for the remainder of the season. Violation of is a Class C Misdemeanor.
Section 2 – Effective Date. This resolution will take effect June 1, 2021 upon approval of the Mayor and City Council.
