More Preparedness Fair Information

This Saturday, September 23rd, promises to be a lot of fun Moroni’s Emergency Preparedness Fair, co-sponsored with the local Moroni Utah LDS Stake. Even if you don’t consider yourself a “prepper,” there will be something for you to see, do and learn on Saturday!

We’ve had additional vendors sign up, including some with wall tents, barrel stoves, and solar products.

Kids will have activities to learn about stranger danger, internet safety, and even a “beer goggle” obstacle course to demonstrate the effects of drugs and alcohol!

It will be a great time to come enjoy good company with your friends and neighbors and learn something new about keeping you and your family safe.  Door prize drawings available, too!

Pressure Canner Testing at next week’s Emergency Preparedness Fair

We have had a great response from citizens and vendors both about Moroni City and Moroni Utah Stake’s upcoming preparedness fair. Here’s an update you may be interested in:

USU Extension will be at the Emergency Preparedness Fair next Saturday to test pressure canner lids for FREE! If you would like yours tested, bring your pressure canner lid AND its weight with you.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about home canning and make sure your canning equipment is functioning correctly.

See you next Saturday, September 23rd, 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the North Sanpete Middle School!  Check out the flyer HERE for more information.

Drive Thru Flu Shoot Out Clinic

Please Join the Central Utah Public Health Department, along with many first responder agencies in the community as we practice our mass vaccination plans. Flu shots will be offered in a fast and convenient “drive-thru” method.

When: September 19, 2017
Time: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Where: Mt. Pleasant Fire Station 115 W. Main., Mt. Pleasant

It is currently recommended that everyone over six months of age get immunized for seasonal flu; although young children, pregnant women, people over 65 years of age, and anyone with chronic health problems are especially encouraged to do so. Flu activity varies each year, often starting in the fall and peaking in February. Getting vaccinated is the first and most important step in protecting against this serious illness.
Flu vaccine is $25, and may be covered by your health insurance.
